Ukraine’s prime minister: “Orange” ministers will be replaced by members of coalition

Read it in Russian

Positions of ministers that will be vacant after Our Ukraine bloc ministers resign, will be distributed between parties – members of the ruling parliamentary coalition, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich is quoted as saying by a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev on October 19.

According to Yanukovich, distribution of governmental posts will take place taking into consideration the number of members in each faction of the coalition. The prime minister noted that candidatures of ministers-to-be will be considered by the parliament “within next few days,” and dismissal of the current cabinet ministers and appointment of new ones will happen simultaneously. At the same time, the prime minister added that in case some of “orange” ministers express wishes to remain at their posts, settlement of the issue will also depend on the Supreme Rada. “The government will work stably, I am sure of it,” the Ukrainian prime minister is quoted as saying.

As REGNUM already reported, earlier today, leader of Our Ukraine faction Roman Bessmertny announced that five ministers registered their resignation notices at the Supreme Rada. By the end of the day, one of the mentioned ministers, Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko told reporters that he decided to reserve the post to himself coordinating it with President Viktor Yushchenko.
