Boris Tarasyuk will not hand over either his ministerial or party post
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk does not intend to resign from his post of leader of Narodny Rukh (NRU) or resign from the party because of Rukh switching to opposition or to resign from the foreign minister’s position. Boris Tarasyuk made the announcement at Narodny Rukh local congresses in Lvov on October 21, a REGNUM correspondent reports. I will remain NRU president until I am given vote of no-confidence. I appreciate the party’s trust and cannot ignore it. I cannot betray this trust, the ÒÊÃ president is quoted as saying. At the same time he noted that he will remain the foreign minister. I will remain the foreign minister, until the Ukrainian president makes another decision. Foreign minister and defense minister are [appointed by] presidential quota. So, the question is settled. The president made the decision that the ministers elected by his quota remain in the government, Tarasyuk notes.
