Rambler TV-Channel sold for $23mln
It became known on October 26; Rambler TV-Channel was sold for $23mln. The Osgora Productions Company, whose 100% of stocks belong to the Prof-media Company, purchased the channel.
The bargain was concluded on October 24. Finally, the bargain will be concluded after approval of regulating authorities will be received, Vedomosti newspaper informs.
Rambler Media CEO Irina Gofman stated that TV-business will better develop in portfolio of company, which has more TV asset and, what is especially important, a Moscow frequency, too. She added that Rambler will concentrate its efforts on the company’s internet division.
Rambler Media is holding, containing search internet portal Rambler, news web site Lenta.ru, specialized web sites Doktor.ru, Mama.ru, etc, as well as Rambler TV-Channel, the SMXcom Company (SMS marketing), Index20 Advertising Agency, Rambler-Telecom provider. Also, Rambler possesses blocking stake at Begun.ru project.
The Rambler TV-Channel started to broadcast in 2003. 900 TV-stations in 470 Russian cities transmit its broadcasts, covering audience of about 40mln of people. The Rambler TV quote totaled 0.43% of audience aged 6-54 in the first half of 2006.
