Ukraine’s Supreme Rada accepts resignation of Our Ukraine ministers
Members of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada have accepted resignation of the ministers appointed to the Viktor Yanukovich government by the quota of Our Ukraine Party, a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev reports. In particular, after speech by Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, MPs accepted resignation of Justice Minister Roman Zvarych and Culture and Tourism Minister Igor Likhovoi. 247 MPs from 438 registered at the session voted for resignation of Roman Zvarych; 246 for Likhovoy.
At the same time, the parliament, under a proposal by Viktor Yanukovich, rejected resignation of Minister for Family, Youth and Sports Issues Yuri Pavlenko and Healthcare Minister Yuri Polyachenko. Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko also remained on his post.
Our Ukraine ministers were appointed by quota from the party in accordance with agreements between President Viktor Yushchenko and leader of Regions Party Viktor Yanukovich. On October 19, the ministers sent in their resignations.
