Ukraine’s parliament proposes to dismiss interior minister
The Ukrainian Supreme Rada has proposed to the government to dismiss Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko. As a REGNUM correspondent reports, today, on November 2, MPs passed a decision to establish an investigation commission to check facts of corrupt actions and abuse of position by Ukraine’s Interior Ministry officials. 235 from 435 MPs attending the session voted for the decision.
The decision was caused by publication in one of Ukrainian newspapers, in which facts of abuse at the Interior Ministry are cited. The commission will be active within two months. For this period the MPs propose to dismiss Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko.
It is worth mentioning, Lutsenko was appointed as minister at the Viktor Yanukovich government not by Our Ukraine quota, but by an agreement between President Viktor Yushchenko and premier Viktor Yanukovich.
