US and Israel discuss Iranian bomb, Palestine, and Syria
Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert met with US president George Bush in Washington to discuss mainly Iran’s nuclear weapons. Bush says that Iranians are to made fully responsible for the consequences if they refuse to compromise. The world, according to Bush, has to unite to make Iran realize that if it continues developing nuclear weapons, it will be isolated, ISRAland informs.
The Israeli prime minister stressed that Israel is going to do its utmost to check Iran’s effort to get over technological difficulties that impede its producing nuclear weapons. Iran, by Olmert, has to learn that if it refuses to compromise, it will have to face undesirable consequences.
The parties also discussed the situation in the Palestinian Autonomy. Bush stressed the importance of rendering humanitarian assistance to Palestinian population. The US president repeated that the US adheres to the principle two states for two peoples, is interested in strengthening Palestinian government and realizing Mideast roadmap. Olmert stressed that he was immediately going to have a serious dialogue with the PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas based on the roadmap principles. Olmert says he and Abu Mazen constantly maintain contacts, looking for an opportunity to start immediate dialogue. Bush and Olmert also discussed the satiation with Syria and agreed that the state might become a partner in peaceful talks only if it refuses to support terrorist organizations.
