Yushchenko: 100 days of the Yanukovich government’s work cannot be treated as indicative
Ukraine’s President Viktor Yushchenko believes that for 100 days of its work, the Yanukovich government has not fulfilled a single article of the National Unity Universal. The president expressed his opinion in an interview to Ukrainian TV-channels on November 21, a REGNUM correspondent reports. At the same time, the president said that 100 days of the government’s work cannot be treated as indicative. As Yushchenko said, Probably, the team has just received the score and is only starting to tune in their instruments; so the 100 days of the Yanukovich government’s cannot be treated as indicative.
If we speak of priorities stressed in the Universal, within 100 days I cannot think of any of them, on which one could report looking directly into eyes of our voters, party colleagues and various governmental institutions, the president added. Among claims to the Cabinet for the 100 days of its work, Yushchenko cited management of the crops market, gas talks with Russia and Yanukovich’s statement in Brussels, which was assessed as revision of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic policy.
Besides, the president stressed necessity of holding round-table discussions on ways of implementing the universal. This is one of the subjects I am working on now; we need to take the Universal to implementation, because there are national priorities, which, I am sure, can unite the forces in opposition as well as the forces in power, Yushchenko said in particular.
