Russian spy agency: Litvinenko is not that kind of person
Russia’s Intelligence Service made an official statement denying its involvement in poisoning of ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko in London. As Spokesman for the Russian Intelligence Service Sergey Ivanov said, the service has nothing to do with Litvinenko’s health conditions. Litvinenko is not a figure of that scale to be paid so much attention by governmental agencies from the USA, State Department and so on. The man got sick. I would like to wish him sooner recovery, Ivanov said.
Litvinenko is not that kind of person to overshadow bilateral relations because of him, Ivanov said. The intelligence service hopes that the event will not affect Russia-UK relations.
Earlier, toxicologist of London College University Hospital John Henry, who is treating Litvinenko, said his symptoms were not typical for poisoning by thallium salt. According to Henry, Litvinenko’s marrow has totally stopped functioning, and leucocytes in his blood decreased almost by zero. Such symptoms are typical for exposure to radiation.
