Ukraine’s integration into NATO is an irreversible process: Ukrainian President advisor
The task of Ukraine’s political forces is to agree on when Ukraine will be ready for being invited for NATO Membership Action Plan, the advisor of the Ukrainian President Oleg Rybachuk said on the eve of the NATO Summit in Riga, where he is taking part in the international conference Transforming NATO in a Global Era. A REGNUM correspondent reports Rybachuk to say: We must understand that the final goal of our cooperation with NATO is our membership in that alliance. Our integration into NATO is an irreversible process.
The President points out that gradual and decisive reforms in Ukraine are a proof that the country is ready to join the NATO Membership Action Plan, says Rybachuk. This is an excellent chance for involving the best world experts in developing our vital spheres: economy, defense industry and security. This will also raise our investment appeal. Rybachuk notes that deeper cooperation with NATO means that Ukraine will take a direct part in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic policy making.
Today, the political leaders should jointly conduct an effective information campaign about Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration so that our citizens could freely and consciously choose their future. Our key national priority today is to depoliticize the problem of NATO, says Rybachuk.
