Russian Prosecutor General: Murder of Andrei Kozlov can be pronounced detected
Murder of Andrei Kozlov can be pronounced detected, Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika announced at a news conference in Moscow saying that all participants of the case have been arrested.
As the Prosecutor General said, there is substantial progress in investigation of Anna Politkovskaya’s murder.
As for investigation of ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, as Chaika explained, interrogations on the case will be conducted by officers of the Prosecutor General’s Office, but they are not entrusted to detain anybody, as the crime was committed in the territory of another country. The prosecutor general stressed that details of the investigation will be closed for press coverage. The Prosecutor General’s Office does not intend to interrogate Alexei Trepashkin (his lawyer informed yesterday that Trepashkin could give evidence on Litvinenko’s case), as his name was not cited in the special order by Scotland Yard.
Besides, the Prosecutor General said that there are grounds to start criminal procedure on Sakhalin 2 project, as numerous violations of law were committed during the construction.
