Defense minister warned Ukraine of consequences of entering NATO
Ukraine’s joining NATO will inevitably reflect upon the Russian-Ukrainian relations, namely in military cooperation and in some other fields, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov announced today at a joint news conference with Ukraine’s Defense Minister Anatoly Gritsenko in Kiev, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
At the same time, Sergey Ivanov informed that to enter or not to enter NATO is the Ukrainian people’s issue. The task of the Ukrainian political elite is to choose the most admissible form of guarantying their security.
It is worth mentioning that today, on December 7, a meeting of military delegations of Ukraine and Russia under chairmanship of the two defense ministers, Anatoly Gritsenko and Sergey Ivanov. Besides, a meeting of Ukrainian and Russian defense ministers, Sergey Ivanov’s meeting with President Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich.
