Russian citizen, Dmitry Kovtun, who gave evidence to investigators from Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office and Scotland Yard on the case of Alexander Litvinenko’s poisoning, is in poor condition. Soon after giving evidence, Kovtun fell into coma, competent sources told reporters in Moscow. Earlier, Kovtun was tested positive for polonium 210. Russian Prosecutor General’s Office started criminal proceedings on the case. As anonymous sources say, Kovtun’s gastrointestinal tract was affected, which means that someone tried to poison him, or he ate or drank something with what ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned.

Meanwhile, seven employees of the Millennium Hotel in London visited by Litvinenko before his death were tested positive for polonium 210. As Western media report citing British Health Protection Agency, earlier trails of radioactivity were found at the hotel. Later experts pronounced all the rooms at the hotel safe for people’s health except for one bar, where Litvinenko had a meeting with Andrei Lugovoi on November 1.

The British party has refused yet to comment on the parallel criminal proceeding instated in Russia on Litvinenko’s case, RSN informs. It was announced that most experienced representatives of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office are ready to fly to London. However, both UK diplomatic mission and Scotland Yard decline to comment on it.
