Police searching for traces of preparations for Litvinenko’s poisoning in Hamburg
A large-scale operation of Hamburg police revealed traces of preparations to poisoning of ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko. As Lenta.ru reports citing Die Welt, the police conducted a search in a flat in Altona district. The flat was rented by a businessman from Russia, who left Hamburg several weeks ago.
High level of radioactivity found in organism of the tenant, and now he is undergoing treatment in hospital in Moscow. Author of the article in Die Welt supposed that some part of preparations for Litvinenko’s poisoning were carried out in Hamburg.
Earlier, both witnesses on the Litvinenko case, Russians Lugovoi and Kovtun were tested positive for radioactivity.
As REGNUM reported earlier, ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who fled to UK in 2000, died in London College University Hospital on November 23. Since early November he was undergoing treatment after suddenly falling ill.
