No charges brought against Lugovoi
Later on December 11, Russian prosecutors in presence of Scotland Yard officers questioned one of key witnesses on the Litvinenko murder, Russian businessman and ex-FSB officer Andrei Lugovoi. The questioning took place at Moscow Clinical Hospital No 6, where Lugovoi is undergoing medical examination on suspicion of radiation sickness. As Vesti inform, no charges were brought against him, Lugovoi told reporters.
British media call Lugovoi the key witness and a potential suspect.
As REGNUM already reported, ex-FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who fled to the UK in 2000 and was granted a UK passport this October, died in London University College Hospital on November 23. High concentration of radioactive polonium 210 was found in his body.
