Ahmadinejad: UN resolution will not halt Iranian nuclear activity
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, speaking in Tehran on December 24, called inadmissible and anti-Iranian the UN Security Council resolution passed unanimously on December 23. The resolution introduces sanctions against Iran concerning its uranium enrichment activity and projects based on heavy water, chemical reprocessing and production of nuclear weapons’ carriers.
At the same time, Ahmadinejad noted that Iran would continue its uranium enrichment activity, and additional 3,000 centrifuges will be installed at Natanz. Iran has been fully observing international legislation; its nuclear activity is fully peaceful, Ahmadinejad said, stressing that the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council will not halt Iranian nuclear activity.
At the same time, the president noted that Iran intended to revise its attitude towards international organizations that are pursuing a double-standard policy towards the country’s nuclear program, Golos Rossii informs.
