Azerbaijan and Gazprom failed to agree on price of Russian gas
Gazprom (Russia) reached no agreement on amount and price of gas imported to Azerbaijan. If Gazprom does not agree with conditions posed by Azerbaijan, gas will not be bought from Russia. Azerbaijan will not buy gas from Russia at the price of $235 per 1,000 cubic meters, President of Azerbaijan’s National Oil Company Rovnag Abdullayev is quoted as saying by Trend on Tuesday.
If Ukraine receives gas at the price of $130, Armenia — $110 per 1,000 cubic meters, why should Azerbaijan receive it at the price of $235 for 1,000 cubic meters? 85% of gas imported by Azerbaijan in 2006 was of Turkmen, Kazakh and Uzbek origin. We expect that the Russian side explained expenditures for gas delivery at the amount of $135 per 1,000 cubic meters, the National Oil Company president said.
