Ukraine is ready to transit gas instead of Belarus
In case Belarus and Russia fail to agree on gas transit via the Belarusian territory to Western Europe, Ukraine is ready to increase amount of transit of the Russian gas. Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuri Boyko made the statement at a briefing today, on December 28, a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev reports.
After analyzing possible scenarios, we see that in case of any conflict situations Ukraine can render assistance by increasing the transit to European consumers in the amounts necessary for functioning of their economies, Yuri Boyko particularly said. Besides, the minister noted that neither Ukrainian nor European consumers involved in the current transit will feel any consequences of the conflict.
