Ex-KGB officer, MP Alexander Lebedev reportedly could be poisoned by radioactive substance
Member of the Russian State Duma, businessman Alexander Lebedev says in an interview to British media that there was an attempt to poison him in the way like ex-KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned. As The Sunday Times reports, Alexander Lebedev has no doubts that he was poisoned just like Alexander Litvinenko. The MP believes that his food may have been poisoned in a Moscow restaurant. Doctors failed to find what caused the poisoning. He felt ill last spring. He was delivered to hospital; while being treated he lost six kilos.
Alexander Lebedev is a member of the Russian State Duma, businessman, in the past he was a KGB lieutenant colonel, retired in 1991. Up to date, he takes the 23rd position in the Forbes ratings of Russia’s richest people. Lebedev is also co-owner of Novaya Gazeta, for which slain reporter Anna Politkovskaya worked.
As it was announced earlier, Litvinenko could be poisoned twice. Some media cite results of a toxic examination, which allegedly showed two places of concentration of polonium 210. Experts suppose that Litvinenko was subjected to the first radiation dose several days before the second one.
