Yanukovich lodges complain to prosecution against Ukrainian foreign minister
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich lodged a complain to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office asking to take action against Boris Tarasyuk, who by his activity allegedly causes serious damage to the country’s interests. As a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev informs, the statement was made by press office of the Ukrainian government on January 15.
Press office of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry released information that on January 15 Boris Tarasyuk departed to Czech Republic as minister of foreign affairs, press office of the government reminds. In this connection, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers announced that Boris Tarasyuk was dismissed from the post of the foreign minister on December 1, 2006 in accordance with a resolution of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada of December 1, 2006. Besides, according to the statement, the prime minister did not grant a holiday to Tarasyuk nor he made a decision on sending him abroad. So, Tarasyuk now cannot be considered a governmental official, who is on holiday now, moreover, he was not entrusted by the government to pay an official foreign visit, the statement says.
