Read it in Russian

The Ukrainian foreign ministry announced that Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich was informed in the written form about Minister Boris Tarasyuk’s visit to the Czech Republic coordinated with the president in accordance with the constitution. Press office of the Ukrainian foreign ministry released a statement on it today, on January 16, a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev reports.

“It is artificial boosting around the official visit of the Ukrainian foreign minister that damages international image of the country. Since January 3, Boris Tarasyuk has been on holiday, but his official visit to the Czech Republic had been planned as early as in 2006, on which media reported as well,” the foreign ministry’s press office informs.

On January 15, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich addressed the Ukrainian Prosecution General’s Office asking to take action against Boris Tarasyuk’s activity that allegedly causes significant damage to national interests. According to Viktor Yanukovich, he did not grant holiday to Tarasyuk, nor he made a decision to send him to the Czech Republic; he had not even been informed on it.
