Russian businessman made fun of reports on his extradition

Read it in Russian

Andrei Lugovoi found funny reports of UK media that Great Britain intends to claim his extradition from Russia. “When I read the article in the Guardian about my extradition, it made me laugh,” the businessman told Reuters by phone.

The Guardian claims that UK authorities would request Russia to extradite Lugovoi as early as in February. Citing a source at the British government, the newspaper said that Lugovoi could be handed over to the UK in exchange for extraditing Boris Berezovsky to Russia.

Andrei Lugovoi and Dmitry Kovtun met former Russian FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko at a London hotel on November 1, 2006. On the same day, Litvinenko fell ill and on November 23 he died of polonium 210 poisoning.
