Gazprom: It is impossible to establish new “gas OPEC”

Gazprom press office was short in commenting to REGNUM on proposal by Iranian Muslim leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to establish “gas OPEC” together with Russia:

“Establishing a gas OPEC is impossible because of different structuring of oil and gas business.”

Earlier, analysts of several Russian banks told in an interview to REGNUM that the statement by the Iranian leader should be considered as a political one, but not an economic one, and that in the near perspective no reciprocal actions from the Russian side should be expected.
