Russian ambassador in Tbilisi to present his credentials to Georgian president on January 31
Russia’s Ambassador to Georgia Vyacheslav Kovalenko will present his credentials to Georgia’s President Mikhail Saakashvili on January 31, the ambassador told reporters today after a meeting with Georgia’s Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili. At the same time, Kovalenko noted that we agreed to have regular meeting in the future, where we shall discuss the whole range of the Russian-Georgian relations meaning, of course, their effective development in the interests of the two countries, civil.ge informs.
Vyacheslav Kovalenko was recalled from Tbilisi to Moscow last September for consultations because of exacerbation of tensions in the Russian-Georgian relations. On January 18, the Russian side announced the decision to return the ambassador to Tbilisi.
