Proryv prepares for protest actions against military NATO Sea Breeze exercises in Ukraine
On February 8, Proryv Crimean Youth Organization made a statement on renewed repressions against their organization and connected them with the Sea Breeze NATO military exercises planned to be held this summer in Odessa and Nikolayev.
The statement particularly says that leaders of the organization are being shadowed, their mobile phones are tapped without court’s decision. Any mass action of the activists is blocked by police.
As a REGNUM correspondent was told by Nadezhda Polyakova, Proryv chair, after the events in Feodosiya in May-June 2006, in which Proryv actively participated, leader of the organization Alexander Dobychin was deported from Ukraine. However, Proryv does not intend to give in and announces its intention to hold protest actions against NATO military exercises not only in Crimea, but throughout Ukraine. Proryv calls upon the whole country to rise and starts functioning in the whole Ukrainian territory. As early as today, on February 8, Proryv opens its headquarters in Kiev, Polyakova said.
