Georgian official about debt to Russian airlines: I think Georgian companies will pay these kopeks
We shall address Georgian airlines offering to repay their debts to Russian airlines, Acting head of the Georgian transport regulation agency Alexander Chkhikvadze announced at a news conference televised to Moscow from Tbilisi today dedicated to results of talks in Moscow about recommencing air transportation between Georgia and Russia, a REGNUM correspondent informs.
As Chkhikvadze said, the talks resulted in establishing a Russian-Georgian work group to settle the debt. According to Chkhikvadze, the debt of Georgian air companies to Russian airlines is ridiculous. I think Georgian airlines will pay those kopeks, he said. The Russian side cited the sum of the debt as $3.6 mln.
According to Chkhikvadze, a compromise, political decision should be made on the question of recommencing air transportation between Russia and Georgia. However, Chkhikvadze failed to give a clear answer to questions of reporters from Moscow what the compromise decision would be.
