Lawyer insists, Frenkel’s case is breaking up
An unexpected turn occurred in the investigation of murder of Russia’s Central Bank deputy chief Andrei Kozlov: Liana Askerova, on whose evidence charges against supposed contractor of the murder, Alexei Frenkel, were based, denied her initial statement, Frenkel’s lawyer Igor Trunov said. As Trunov believes, now economic charges can be brought against his client.
As REGNUM reported earlier, the attack on Kozlov, who was in charge for licensing at the Central Bank, was committed on September 13 in Moscow. His driver died from wounds at the site, Kozlov died the next morning in hospital. Overall, seven people were announced suspects in Kozlov’s murder.
