Bushehr NPP listed among potential US targets in Iran
Iran is ready for talks on its nuclear problem, but excludes a possibility of suspending its activity in uranium enrichment. The statement was made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on air of Iranian state television on February 20. They [the West] propose to us talks on the nuclear problem under condition that Iran suspends its nuclear activity, the Iranian president said. We want talks, however, on fair conditions.
The United States administration elaborated a new action plan towards Iran. The country’s leadership made a list of targets for possible strikes against Iran in case the nuclear issue is not settled peacefully, BBC informs. It is also said that the list includes the NPP in Bushehr constructed with Russia’s assistance. Besides, the list of potential targets includes facilities in Natanz, Isfahan and Araq. US plans go further than air strikes on known and supposed nuclear facilities. It is not ruled out that in case a military campaign starts, Iranian air and navy bases, air defense facilities and headquarters will be attacked.
Meanwhile, official Washington still says it is not going to attack Iran.
