Chinese foreign ministry: Any actions taken by UN Security Council should promote political settlement of Iranian nuclear problem
China has consistently been backing settlement of the Iranian nuclear problem by political ways, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said at a news conference today commenting on a meeting of the six-party group on Iran held in London.
According to Qin Gang, China “advocates the solution of the Iran nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations and peaceful means.” Answering a question on possible toughening of sanctions against Iran, the Chinese diplomat stressed: “No matter what measures are taken by the Security Council, these actions should be conducive to the proper solution of the Iran nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations and peaceful means,” China Daily informs.
