Ukrainian ministries remove information on profit of joining NATO from official web-sites
Ukraine’s emergency ministry removed information that advocates Ukraine’s joining NATO from its official web-site this weekend. As a REGNUM correspondent in Kiev informs, today, on March 12, instead of a document that informed in detail about financial and geopolitical gains that accession to NATO would give to Ukraine, the emergency ministry put a notice saying the web-site was under reconstruction.
It is worth mentioning, the ministry is headed by Nestor Shufrych, first deputy of the leader of the Socialist Democratic Party. The party has been persistently opposing Ukraine’s joining NATO. In particular, in 2006 it initiated collection of signatures to conduct a referendum on the issue.
