Russia can present a counter-claim against Georgia
In response to Georgia’s appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, Russia can present a counter-claim, believes Leonid Slutsky, the first deputy head of the Russian State Duma Committee for Foreign Affairs. Everything started from violation of human rights against Russian citizens, RSN quotes him as saying.
Earlier, Georgia’s Justice Ministry sued Russia in Strasburg. As Tbilisi believes, last autumn, during deportation of Georgian citizens from Russia their rights were infringed. Georgian politicians from both the ruling party and the opposition are unanimous in the idea that Georgia must sue Russia in the Strasburg court.
