Iran: Delay in nuclear fuel delivery from Russia makes the country seek its own fuel production
Iran has announced today that Russia’s decision not to deliver fuel for the first stage of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr constructed by Russia means Tehran’s decision to produce its own fuel was right, Reuters reports.
Iran is ready to produce nuclear fuel on its own in the frameworks of its enrichment program, however, the West believes that the Iranian side would enrich the fuel up to the level appropriate for nuclear weapons. Tehran, nevertheless, denies it.
If the Russian side does not want to deliver the fuel to us, we will have to produce it on our own. Financial problems in the dispute with Russia are quite resolvable, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Gholamreza Agazadeh announced.
