Russian prosecution completes investigation of Andrei Kozlov murder
On May 22, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has completed investigation of Russia’s Central Bank First Deputy Chief Andrei Kozlov, Nikolai Klen, lawyer of Liana Askerova, who is considered by the investigators as an accomplice in the murder, told a REGNUM correspondent.
The investigation believes that ex-president of VIP Bank Alexei Frenkel was contractor of the murder and Ukrainian citizens, Alexei Polovinkin, Maxim Proglyad and Alexander Belokopytov. Since today, the suspects start familiarizing themselves with the evidence.
Liana Askerova was detained on January 10, 2007. On the night of January 11, the ex-president of VIP Bank, Alexei Frenkel, 33, was detained.
The gun attack on Kozlov, who was in charge for licensing at the Central Bank, was committed on September 13, 2006, in Moscow. His driver died from wounds at the site, Kozlov died the next morning in hospital.
