Sergey Ivanov: Investigation of the Litvinenko case will not influence Russian-UK relations
Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov sees no possible complications of the Russian-British relations in connection with the investigation of the murder of Alexander Litvinenko. Ivanov made the statement at a news conference today.
I see no connection between the Litvinenko case and development of the relations between Russia and the United Kingdom, the deputy premier noted. We have justice, prosecution, the agencies independent from the executive branch, that, I hope, will soon receive official materials of the investigation from the UK, consider them and make an independent decision in accordance with the law and the constitution of the Russian Federation.
