Russia and Georgia: from Conflict to Cooperation round-table discussion to be held in REGNUM press center on June 7
Russia and Georgia: from Conflict to Cooperation round-table discussion will be held in REGNUM press center tomorrow. A wide range of issues will be discussed regarding the current state of affairs and prospects of the Russian-Georgian relations, including economic, humanitarian, foreign policy, military issues, cultural and religious ties, role of people-to-people diplomacy and ethnic diasporas.
Participants of the discussion will speak on necessity of economic cooperation with Russia for Georgia, the gas scandal and lost profit by the Georgian government, possible consequences of Georgia joining NATO, true US interests in Georgia, Russia’s claims to Georgia and other issues.
A statement will be made to address the Russian and Georgian presidents after the meeting. Professor Valeryan Advadze (first Georgia’s Ambassador to Russia), Professor Irina Bagrationi-Mukhraneli, Professor Vladimir Vakhania and PhD in Fine Arts Kora Tsereteli will present their reports at the event.
Director General of the Foundation for Unity of the Russian and Georgian People, President of the Congress of Ethnic Organizations of Russia, Professor Vladimir Khomeriki will be moderating the round-table discussion. The meeting is to start at 02:00 p.m. (Moscow time) on June 7.
