Iranian ambassador to Russia: None of Mideast nations would choose Americans or Western bloc
We in Tehran are not occupied by creating nuclear weapons, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Gholam-Reza Ansari announced at a round-table discussion held by the Russian Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) at the State Duma today, reports a REGNUM correspondent. We are occupied with development of the nuclear science, we engaged in all progressive sciences. And the Iranian nation, setting hopes for its ability and opportunity, will able to reach a lot, Ansari said.
In his turn, Deputy Chair of the Russian State Duma (leader of the LDPR) Vladimir Zhirinovsky noted that Iran’s wish to have its own nuclear program is lawful, and stressed that willingness to have powerful sources of energy is lawful. Future belongs to nuclear power engineering, he said adding that there are not enough resources for the 6 billion population of the globe. Iran in some sense will repeat the fate of the USSR, Zhirinovsky believes and cited as an argument shift of US vector of interests to the Middle East.
Ansari noted that Iran wants to have friendly relations with all countries of the world, but with those countries and nations that recognize our rights, with those countries that believe that the Iranian people belong to citizens of the white type in the world.
According to Ansari, if the West wants stability in the region, it must recognize rights of all countries in the region, including Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestine as well. All the nations in our region must have a right to choose, the ambassador noted and added that if the right to choose is given to the nations in the region, none of the nations would choose Americans or the Western bloc.
