Great Britain ready to cease cooperation with Russia because of Lugovoy

Read it in Russian

Britain could cease cooperation with Russia on several fronts after Russia’s refusal to extradite Andrei Lugovoy accused of poisoning Alexander Litvinenko, The Times (UK) reports.

The UK Foreign Office is expected to present a full report to the country’s parliament next week on Russia’s decision, including the fronts to cease cooperation. No details of the document have been made public yet.

Earlier, the Russian prosecution sent an official refusal to extradite Lugovoy citing the Russian constitution and the European Convention on Extradition.

Litvinenko died of polonium 210 poisoning at a London Hospital on November 23, 2006. According to the British investigation, the radioactive substance got into Litvinenko’s body on November 1, when he had a meeting with Lugovoy.
