Socialist MP: Ukrainian Supreme Rada ready to conduct extraordinary session
Member of the Ukrainian Socialist Party Vasily Silchenko does not rule out that an extraordinary session of the Supreme Rada will be held on Tuesday, July 31. The statement was made public by the Socialist Party press office today, a REGNUM correspondent informs. According to Silchenko, members of the parliamentary coalition proposed such initiative.
The Socialist Party member proposed that key issues to be discussed at the extraordinary session must concern legal basis for conducting the extraordinary parliamentary elections on September 30, 2007. According to Silchenko, up to date, the problems of zeroizing the party lists, there is no register of eligible voters yet, lists are formed in a non-transparent manner. Political ads of Yushchenko and his political force are being illegally broadcasted on TV under disguise of social advertizing. Besides, the pro-presidential party is actively using the administrative resource to strengthen positions of Our Ukraine People’s Union bloc, systematically annihilates independent justice, blocking in advance a possibility to question outcomes of elections in court.
The Socialist Party member also expressed his opinion that all those actions are a basis for large-scale fraud aimed at revenge of the Orange forces in order to establish dictatorship in Ukraine and deprive the country of a democratic way of development. At the same time, he pointed it out that the Socialist Party is ready for the extraordinary elections, but only in the case if they are held on constitutional basis instead of political agreements.
