Ukrainian Regions Party will not participate in elections without Timoshenko’s Bloc
The law is obligatory for everyone, and the BYT (Yulia Timoshenko’s bloc) is exploiting cheap populism using the situation with refusal of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to register their party ticket to raise its decreasing ratings, head of the Regions Party headquarters Boris Kolesnikov said commenting on the situation with the Ukrainian CEC, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
However, he said in this context that the Regio0ns Party would back BYT participation in the elections, as without this political force, which is supported by every seventh Ukrainian voter, the elections will not be full. The head of the Regions Party headquarters drew attention to the fact that error were found practically in all party tickets , but they were corrected. Only BYT is using the situation in promotion goals, Kolesnikov concluded.
On August 13, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko addressed the Central Election Commission asking to register the BYT party ticket. On the same day, the BYT sued the CEC in court. The problem with BYT party lists occurred, because its candidates did not list their full addresses in the documents.
