Iran and IAEA reach progress at final stage of negotiations
The final stage of the negotiations between the IAEA and Iran is considered by the sides to be good and constructive. According to the head of the IAEA delegation, IAEA Deputy Director General Olli Heinonen, some progress was reached, in particularly, they elaborated an action plan. We have agreed on ways to implement it. We agreed on time limits to implement it, Heinonen said. The Iranian side also reported that the parties drafted a basic agreement between Iran and the agency.
After the final stage of the talks in Tehran regarding the Iranian nuclear program, IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei will present a final report. IAEA recommendations can impact position of the West that seeks new sanction against Iran.
The IAEA says that all unclear issues are rooted in Iran’s previous nuclear activity. IAEA experts want to get familiar and establish some fragments of the activity. Iran speaks for continuing settlement of its nuclear issue in a political way within IAEA frameworks. Tehran refutes apprehension of world powers including the USA that Iran is secretly developing nuclear weapons in its territory, saying its uranium enrichment program is fully peaceful.
