Regions Party: Yushchenko costs Ukraine twice more than Kuchma did
The Ukrainian Supreme Rada must cancel privileges of the president, the prime minister, ministers and members of the parliament to put themselves into common people’s shoes. The announcement was made by MP, Regions Party Faction deputy head Mikhail Chechetov today, a REGNUM correspondent informs citing the Regions Party press office.
“Really, the president has enormous privileges today. Just think of it: under Leonid Kuchma maintenance of the presidential administration cost 500mn hrivnyas; today, maintenance of President Yushchenko costs 1bn,” Mikhail Chechetov said. Besides, he informed that on the first day of the parliamentary session, on September 4, the question of canceling immunity of a deputy will be considered.
