Armenian opposition criticizes government over Nagorno Karabakh issue
One of gross mistakes of the Armenian government in the question of settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is putting Stepanakert aside of the negotiation process, Chair of the Armenian National Democratic Party Shevarsh Kocharyan said at a news conference today.
According to a REGNUM correspondent, Kocharyan says that the current stage of the negotiation process has come to a deadlock. One of the Minsk Group tasks is to preserve the current situation and, taking into account belligerent statements and increasing military spending by Baku, preventing from renewal of military action. One must not expect progress until the Azerbaijani side is sticking to such a tough position.
In his turn, former Armenian prime minister Hrant Bagratyan noted that the negotiation process and the document on the negotiation table under current authorities have not gone through substantial changes. According to him, only some details of the negotiation process have changed, the rest remained the same, in particular, the issue regarding surrendering territories in the Nagorno Karabakh security zone and the right of the Nagorno Karabakh people for self-determination.
