Speaker of Armenian parliament: Yerevan has many critical questions to Tbilisi
Yerevan has many critical questions needed to be discussed with Georgia, Armenian Parliamentary Speaker Tigran Torosyan announced at a news conference today commenting on the question whether the MPs planned to provide a response to increasing number of arrests of Armenian citizens in Georgia.
A REGNUM correspondent quotes Torosyan as saying that it is necessary to discuss the question of the Armenians in Javakheti with Georgian colleagues, as well as the current condition of the Armenian-Georgian relations as well as the question of a number of Armenian churches, which some Georgian officials are trying to assign to Georgia. The speaker especially stressed that meetings of Armenian and Georgian MPs must have business-like nature; during the meetings, it is necessary to elaborate effective mechanisms of settling current problems and debated issues instead of limiting themselves to exchanging pleasant statements.
