Andrei Lugovoi to run for parliament
The Russian Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) has started its congress today. The main issue on the agenda is expected to be approving of the party platform, appointing the federal three (three persons to head the party ticket at the federal parliamentary elections) as well as regional party lists, with which the party led by Vladimir Zhirinovsky plans to go at the parliamentary elections on December 2.
The LDPR leader announced earlier that businessman Andrei Lugovoi, who gained publicity through the Alexander Litvinenko murder case, will be the second in the federal three. The second position in the list became vacant after Alexei Mitrofanov deserted to the Fair Russia Party.
