Bako Saakyan: Armenia should remain member of Nagorno Karabakh negotiation process
Nagorno Karabakh President Bako Saakyan assesses positively his meeting with OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. As the Nagorno Karabakh president told reporters today, during the meeting with the mediators, the sides exchanged opinions on the issue, but details of the negotiation process were not discussed, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
As the Karabakh president believes, such meetings will encourage fulfillment of OSCE MG requirements and the NKR will be a party in the talks. Bako Saakayan noted that during the meeting, the question of engaging the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh in the negotiation process was not discussed. We have presented our position and claims and hope they will be taken into account, Saakayan noted adding that according to him, Armenia should continue participating in the negotiation process, as it is one of the most significant conditions of maintaining peace. OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia), Matthew Bryza (USA) and Bernard Fassier (France) visited Nagorno Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan on September 16-18 in the frameworks of the regional tour.
