Read it in Russian

Ukraine will now have a muddy, vague policy, said Chair of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov commenting on the parliamentary elections held on Sunday in Ukraine. “The voters have not determined yet whom they will support in Ukraine. The west and the east (of the country) are voting for different forces, the outcomes are approximately equal, so Ukraine is facing a muddy, vague policy,” Gryzlov said.

As REGNUM reported before, early parliamentary elections were conducted in Ukraine on September 30. 58.21% of ballots were processed by 01:00 p.m. today (Moscow time).

Under preliminary information by the CEC, 33.02% of Ukrainian citizens supported Yulia Timoshenko’s Bloc; 31.11% voted for the Regions Party; 15.45% voted for the pro-presidential Our Ukraine-People’s Defense. Besides, the Communists received 5.1%, Litvin’s Bloc 4.14%, the Socialist Party 3.07%.
