Ballots counting in Ukraine slowed down: Regions Party in the lead
At 06:45 p.m. on Monday, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission continued counting ballots at the parliamentary elections held on Sunday, September 30. As a REGNUM correspondent informs, 85% of protocols were processed.
The Regions Party is leading in the voting, after pressing Yulia Timoshenko’s Bloc from the leading position, while the Socialist Party led by Alexander Moroz although overcoming the three-percent barrier still has negative dynamics. 32.86% voted for the Regions Party; 31.7% voted for Yulia Timoshenko’s Bloc; 14.81% chose the pro-presidential Our Ukraine-People’s Defense bloc. The Communist Party received 5.25%, Litvin’s Bloc 4%, the Socialist Party 3.05%. It is worth mentioning, western Ukraine is leading in ballots counted. The pricess of counting the ballots is the slowest in southern Ukraine.
The pace of ballot counting decreased closer to the night. Within two hours, the CEC counted only 5% of the protocols.
