There are no preliminary outcomes of parliamentary elections in Ukraine yet, but Regions party is still in the lead
At 08:00 a.m. local time today, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission is still counting ballots at the parliamentary elections held on Sunday. As a REGNUM correspondent reports, overall, 94.2% of protocols were processed.
Under the most recent information of the CEC, the Regions Party is still in the lead at the polls, pressing Yulia Timoshenko’s Bloc and increasing the gap from it; the Socialist Party led by Alexander Moroz is failing to overcome the three-percent barrier. By present time the votes are divided as follows: 34.19% received by the Regions Party, 30.8% of voters chose Yulia Timoshenko’s Bloc; 14.27% gave their votes to the pro-presidential Our Ukraine-People’s Defense. Besides, the Communist Party receives 5.37%, Litvin’s Bloc 3.98%, the Socialist Party 2.94%. Least protocols are counted in Crimea (88%), Sevastopol and Kiev (by 82%) and Zaporozhye (89%).
It is worth mentioning, the process of ballot counting has slowed down significantly: starting from yesterday’s evening, the CEC has counted only 10% of protocols.
