Court permits making public outcomes of elections to Ukrainian Supreme Rada
Ukrainian Supreme Administrative Court gave permission to the Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC) to publish official outcomes of the early parliamentary elections to the Supreme Rada held on September 30. The decision was made by the panel of judges of the court yesterday, a REGNUM correspondent informs.
The court ruled that the CEC, when establishing results of the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on September 30, 2007, was acting legally and observed the legislation. Besides, the court verdict says that the CEC protocol on the outcomes fully corresponds with the protocols of district election commissions and the foreign constituency. Besides, the court found no violations in actions of the CEC while compiling lists of voters and received no evidence of facts of grafting voters established by courts.
The court verdict is active from the moment of publication, is final and is not subject of appeal. Official outcomes will be published in official newspapers of the Supreme Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers on October 27.
Earlier, on October 17, the Supreme Administrative Court prohibited the CEC to publish outcomes à the elections until the case is treated. On October 21, the court started proceeding on claimants of five parties – the Socialist Party, the Progressive Party, the Communist Party, All-Ukrainian Party of People’s Trust and the Party of Free Democrats.
