Gia Maisashvili ready to withdraw his candidature in favor of Saakashvili, if Patarkatsishvili becomes his major rival
A presidential contender, leader of the Party of the Future (Georgia) Gia Maisashvili announced today, he is ready to withdraw his candidature in the second run àt the presidential election in favor of Mikhail Saakashvili, if Badri Patarkatsishvili becomes Saakashvili’s key rival after the first round, reports a REGNUM correspondent.
I do not feel hurt by Mikhail Saakashvili. I want future for my country, and thus I dislike his policy, which is a policy against my country’s future. People are talking who will withdraw one-s candidature in favor of whom. Let everyone withdraw one’s candidature in favor of us, including Saakashvili. But there is threat the choice will be bad – between the bad and the worse, and than the situation will be very difficult. If the opposition and Mikhail Saakashvili win, I will not have my hand in the deal. But if a tycoon and Mikhail Saakashvili win, let everyone know: Mikhail Saakashvili is unacceptable for me, but if the tycoon is his key rival, I will be near Mikhail Saakashvili, Gia Maisashvili said.
