Badri Patarkatsishvili changed his mind and decided to continue running for presidency
Georgian presidential contender, businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili, who several days ago announced his decision to withdraw his candidature, on January 3, made a statement about changing his mind. He decided to continue competing for the presidential post, a REGNUM correspondent reports.
An official statement released by his press office on January 3 says that he took the decision after a phone talk with Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilya II.
Patarkatsishvili confirmed all his previous pledges to the Georgian people and his economic platform. The statement also said that all tapped records released in the media are a provocation inspired by the authorities in order to discredit me. Badri Patarkatsishvili said the authorities are trying to hush up the question of his annihilation, however, the fact was proved with documents and relevant materials were handed over to the Scotland Yard.
To remind, Badri Patarkatsishvili announced his intention to withdraw from the presidential race on December 27, however, he did not send an application to the Central Election Commission.
